What’s the verdict on the new electric ones? I’ve seen quite a few recently and they look great (considering they’re from Luxgen at least haha).

It was developed by Foxtron, a joint venture established in 2020 between Luxgen parent Yulon and Hon Hai Precision, better known as Foxconn.
Multiple models but yeah I think this was one of them. Maybe different trims of the same model? Not sure tbh. They also had pastel colors which I’m a big fan of.
The Custin is a 7-seater minivan.
Is the URX really much bigger and worthy of upgrading to?
The N7 seems to be selling well - to the point where it might have actually saved the Luxgen brand. Their sales figures for other cars are really, really low.

That being said, we did check out the Custin, and the trunk space is ridiculously small! So yeah, the upgrade was totally worth it!
The way the seats in the last row fold down and to the side creates a ton of space! 
To give you an idea, our family of six loves camping and we’re able to fit everything we need in just the trunk space plus one folded seat!
We’re really happy with our URX, and the only thing I wish it had is sliding doors, but it’s still great! 
Thanks for the tip, I didn’t look at the Custin’s trunk space when the third row was up - not even sure if the third row can be split.
URX does look spacious in the rear!
Interestingly it has an official wheelchair ramp option - the wheelchair then locks and becomes a car seat while driving:
Yeah, that’s the one I got, the 5+2 with a ramp, even though we don’t need a wheelchair.
We picked it because the trunk’s a bit bigger than the one without the ramp.
Plus, the ramp’s handy as a picnic or camping table, you just need to add a support on the other end.

Random question: How do you pronounce the name?
I always thought “gen” like in “generation,” but if the meaning is “genius,” should it be sth like “geen”?
Btw, I just recently learned this brand belongs to Yulon Co. I never realized that there are no new Yue Loong models on the street. Now I know.
Those cars were certainly trash, but I kind of dig the old style.

I had not paid attention to this, mostly because I think MG cars are a bit fugly I guess. Nothing like the original brand.
This is why we don’t have cheap(er) electric cars in Taiwan. 
Started getting bombarded on IG of Foxtron ads. Incredible that Luxgen was still alive, now with Foxconn acquiring it and localising all production maybe, maybe, they might have a go
Oh, wow, did not hear about that, just the original partnership. If there’s one thing Foxconn knows it’s manufacturing excellence and quality control, both of which Luxgen is in dire need of! 
ONLY because Chinese cars are banned here. Their cars seem ok for the price. It would be good if foxtron can push faster electrification if the market here and more jobs in Miaoli too.
It seems they will OEM to Mitsubishi as well.
A car is a tad more difficult to reliably manufacture and support than phones. Chinese phones (besides software) are good, but still boycotting them in principles. Cars… Cars are mostly software now, and Chinese have a pretty bad record in that. Hardware might be even decent (which I doubt given the price point), but at the end now cars are computers…
Chinese EV imho will do the same end of Chinese semiconductors craze and Chinese bicycle craze, in the dump and most of the brands will disappear. It has already started domestically…
Chinese EVs are already dominant around much of the world. They ain’t going anywhere. They have the best battery tech for instance and great pricing. It’s unfortunate they are all banned here so there are so few (small) electric cars here compared to south east Asia or Europe.
