Last week sent a letter with important docs to the USA so I used Registered Mail here in Taiwan. Had to get a QR code from the clerk and then fill out a million details on my phone. Who am I, Who are they, Value, Dimensions Yadda Yadda Yadda. Went to the PO yesterday to mail a USB to a friend and decided no Registered Mail, too much of a hassle. Lo & behold, still had to do the same song & dance on my phone. Asked if the CNY cards I send back to the USA will require the same BS, “Yes Sir, anything going to the USA requires this. Your president Trump says it’s necessary.” So for the 7 CNY cards I mail each year to family & friends will require 7 separate entries on my phone. My sincerest of Thanks to The Trumptard
Couldn’t one just mail the cards with enough stamp postage on it, stick the Airmail sticker in left bottom corner, and drop in the red mailbox slot for international letters?

As for this, this is the Taiwanese in particular overcorrecting and overreacting and putting the burden on you.
EZPost can also be done and filled out on your PC too to avoid the dreaded QR Codes. Death to QR Codes.
I didn’t have to go through this much hassle sending stuff from Italy. They enter the ITMATT details on their own computers.
Nope, it’s a new policy, like one month new! I was forced to jump through the same hoops that @taiwandude had to go through just last week at my local post office.
“But just 6 months ago I could just fill out the form by hand,” I complained to the clerk.
“They started this just a month ago for mail going to the US.”
And you gotta handle the phone gingerly, as the clerk knew to do, using both his hands as I handed my phone to him. A light touch of the screen and all the information you laboriously typed up would vanish.
This started in Trumps first term. For anyone noting the issue. Started with his Admkn, and the USA pressuring taiwans postal service. Then Covid bullahit made everything infinitely worse. Then Taiwan post started just making their system base done USA oppressive terms across the board. Like it or not, thank Trump. It is annoying as all he’ll.
But you can also do it at home and print out your own forms (we do it daily by the hundreds).
The taiwna postal service setup later on, during covid panics, the EZ post system. So if you don’t have a computer and printer, you cna do it there. And yes, it is EXTREMELY inconvenient, slow and problematic. If you are already spending your time fucking with their retarded system, at least make it a problem for them and get them to do it for you. This system REALLY needs a harsh push back as it’s crippling so many post offices. Was worse when one needed to use the old double lettered foreigner ID codes. My god….

What QR Code did you scan? What was the website it took you called?
I didn’t have to fill out anything mailing my tax info to the USA back in April.
The clerk showed me a placard with 4 QR Codes on it and told to me to scan one in particular. I don’t know what the website was.

I just mailed my CNY cards to friends in the U.S. I don’t use registered mail unless absolutely necessary. CNY cards might take 3 weeks though.
