Check out CNN, it’s five officers dead and six wounded as of right now.
I’m not going to justify it… but let’s put things in context. How many black guys have been shot dead by police for no reason in the last years? It is kind of normal than in the country of guns this happens after so many cases of police brutality.
My mom was at work around the time of the shootings, like 3 kms away.
If something, I have to say in 10 years in Dallas I got like 13 legit traffic/speeding tickets gasp but I was never ever mistreated by the police or anybody in the law. They killed innocent cops, one of them had just married 2 weeks ago.
This really bad.
You’re not going to justify it, but…
That’s one narrative down. Waiting for the rest:
*Must ban guns now…
*Institutional racism…
*Donald Trump caused this…
What else have we got? Help me out with the correct narrative, lefties, or are you guys going to wait for Salon to tell you first so that you can present a united front? I don’t know, I’d maybe go with the Young Turks. I’m sure that they’re figuring it out as we speak. Maybe John Oliver instead. He’d know.

Yeah, probably because of the typhoons we are all a bit thick today.

You are getting shriller and shriller these days. Middle age creeping up fast?
Black people do a lot of the crimes in America and that is one reason a lot of cops are a bit more careful when dealing with a black person. Another thing is that cops are very very scared in America so any move that looks like one could be reaching for a weapon sets off that fear.
I don’t think most cops are actively targeting black people to kill. But espcially if you are black you should not make any sudden moves because the cops are very scared of you . The slightest move will trigger an unloading of a weapon.
Cops die doing traffic stops now, so they are scared.
This cop was very wrong to fire five bullets at this guy. The guy was wrong to reach into his pocket. He should have kept his hands on the steering wheel and made no move whatsoever. Because the cops are scared and on high alert and will shoot at the slightest indication of a possible reach for a weapon.
American cops LIVE IN FEAR of their lives. And this fear results in shootings that should not happen.
Is it wrong for a gang of cops to shoot a homeless person with a knife? Yes it is very wrong. Yes it is.
Is it wrong for a black person to die from a traffic stop when he is reaching for his wallet. Yes it is wrong. It is however understandable given the level of FEAR that is in your average cop nowadays.
Don’t forget cops ARE IN FEAR all the time. So they gang up and will shoot any person armed with ANYTHING (fake guns, knife) 500 times.
Is this wrong? YES it is wrong, it is very wrong.
We have families that call the cops because someone in their family is behaving badly. The family member has as screwdriver or some small knife and is shot dead with numerous bullets once the police show up. Yes that is wrong.
There was the young black kid at an empty playground. Cops show up and kill him within 30 seconds of showing up with no sound reason to do so. Cops don’t want to research the situation anymore. They are scared and will shoot anyone that looks like they could be a danger to them in a new york heartbeat.
There is no question that :
But this thing where people show up to kill cops will only add to that fear. Cops are only going to be even more fearful of their lives now. And they will shoot even quicker at any provocation because guess what?
Their lives ARE IN DANGER. And this proves that.
Some cops have killed in Fear. And some may even have killed a black person because they suspect the black person more then a white person. That may be because a lot of the crimes are done by black people. The mexicans though are giving the blacks a run for their money now.
Organized gunning down of cops will bring out the military and more shootings of innocent people as well as guilty ones.
Will bring out curfews and all sorts of evils.
If you were a cop would you be less fearful after this incident or more fearful and quicker to open fire if you thought rightly or wrongly that your life may be in danger? I think I would be the latter too.

So Salon still hasn’t come out with a narrative for you then?
These shootings seem to happen a lot in areas controlled by liberal Democrats. For instance, Minnesota. Something about the cops they hire and train.
You forgot: It’s Bush’s fault.

I hear tell the police in Dallas have been quitting lately because of low pay and not enough respect. Maybe Dallas was a soft target. Terrorists like soft targets.
It’s a shame. I like DFW but the race baiters and SJWs in DC are ruining things for everyone.

How could I have?
The narrative is in now: Salon seems to be running with banning guns.
…which is an eminently reasonable position.

Works so well in Chicago. Worked so well in Paris and Brussels.
Or we could talk about BLM being a racist, terrorist organisation, or is the narrative “lone wolves” on that one? Funny how that one worked out with Dylann Roof though. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-36745862
This might be what is known as “narrative collapse”.

The problem with that is you can leave Chicago and get guns elsewhere.
The reason gun deaths are so high in the US is that they are easily available. They need to be made less available, or be banned altogether nationwide. It won’t stop all killings, but it will greatly decrease them. There is no reason for civilians to carry guns.
Check out Taiwan, for instance. Occasionally a psycho goes on a killing rampage. Imagine if they had guns. Gun deaths are an extreme rarity here. (Gee, I wonder why.)
…which would be false. BLM is an organization that is trying to put an end to this frightening trend of cops slaughtering unarmed black people with impunity. They organize protests and raise awareness. They do not condone violence.

There are lots of places in the world that have high/comparable rates of gun ownership but much lower deaths than the USA. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but the gun deaths aren’t coming from some guy who works as an engineer during the week and goes to the range on Saturdays; are they not coming from urban youth?

The police don’t slaughter unarmed black people with impunity.
There have been lots of tweets in support of killing the cops from the supporters. When one idiot with a bowl haircut and a Confederate flag does something, or when one of Trump’s supporters does something, no one has any problem with creating a grand narrative then. With the way it was set up also, it’s hard not to believe that someone organising the march didn’t deliberately shepherd the police into that area.
Anyway, as I mentioned, predictably, when someone like Dylann Roof or Anders Breivik goes on a rampage, we get a meta narrative about evil right wingers, problems with whiteness, etc. When people of another ethnicity or ideology do it, then they’re lone wolves who don’t represent anything or anyone else (and the problem is really guns, toxic masculinity or some other red herring), nothing to see here, move along, etc.
Your slip is showing and people are noticing. Like I said, it’s called narrative collapse. It will be interesting to see Trump’s numbers in the polls, especially given Clinton’s association with BLM.
