Right now I mainly read the 中央社 app on my phone when I’m bored or on the metro. I once subscribed to 天下雜誌 but the fact that a portion of it was just translated articles from The Economist sort of irked me so I stopped, though I’ll browse through a copy when I stop by the bookstore. I also sometimes watch 公視新聞 in the morning for a bit until it gets too boring to continue.
I’ve sort of settled on these three sources, and wonder if anyone has recommendations for other ones. Despite all of these, I still feel like I’m slightly out of touch with things that are going on, especially politically. Perhaps being “in-touch” would require me to consume inordinate amounts of “talk shows” that go on and on talking about the same things for hours with pointless grandstanding by people who seem to know nothing at all - no, less than that - so maybe being “out of touch” is a good thing…
What does everyone else read or watch? Have you, like many others, given up entirely on Taiwanese media? Regardless of your own personal views, do you find Blue or Green leaning news more entertaining?
