Massage - Good and Affordable?

Does anyone know where to get a good back massage on the red/green line at a reasonable price? Like nt$600 for an hour or maybe nt$800?

Where is the red/green line?

My wife recently took me to a place on the corner of Civil Blvd. and Fuxing S. Rd for a massage.

I thought it was mostly torture. If it didn’t hurt tremendously, it tickled.

The cost was NT$ 800/hour.

Xindian-Danshui MRT.

Have you tried those massage places run by blind people? There is one near CKS MRT, slightly to the left across the road from the cop shop. Closer to the MOS Burger.
Hope that makes sense… :sunglasses:

Many hospitals have blind massage “therapists” working often in the physio department area. Do a search, I know we discussed this once before.

If you live in Taipei City the blind massage therapists will come to your hotel or home also, you don’t even have to go out.

There are blind people giving massages on the 2nd floor at the Adventist hospital. They’re not affiliated to the hospital, if I understood the website correctly. Supposedly, there are also blind people giving massages at Taipei main station somewhere near the ticket counters. Don’t know about the prices though.

Does anybody know where to get Thai-style massages in Taipei?

Thanks
Iris

They also have blind massagers at Chang Gong hospital on Dunhua, in the room where you queue to pay and collect prescriptions.

How do they charge? Which MRT exit towards this massage place? Address?

TIA.

I’ve been waiting, and waiting for someone to take this thread into the gutter and…

nothing

:bravo: :bravo: I am so proud of you sandman :bravo: :bravo:

Erm…think it’s around NT$200 for 20 minutes. (Was a while back that I had it) I had a shoulder and back massage but I also saw beds there where it looked like one guy was getting a good pummeling. No. Not that kind of pummeling.
As for address specifics, sorry not sure. Take CKS ext. 2. Look on the map in the station for a very nearby cop shop. It’s easy to find from there. FYI, there is a Pizza Hut across the road too. No. Not for eating at.
When you see it you are very close.

:s

Actually, I’ll just get the address during the course of the week and post it.

Brilliant, thanks a lot everyone.

I havent heard of any thai massage places in Taiwan but I know how to do it after studying a little and can give you one next time you come over Iris.

Massage is on my short list of things that piss me off in Taiwan.

I first discoved the benefit of massage when I had run a marathon without preparation. (I did it because I arrived in Las Vegas and they had one the next day)

I walked crippled up for the better part of 2 months after this then my brother took me to a massage therapist for deep tissue massage.

Miracle cure. I walked and ran without pain.

So, I would occasionaly like to have access to real massage.

The Chinese style seems to hark from accupressure massage but they are just pinching skin and bone to cause pain without doing any real work from what I recall before moving to Taiwan when I came in on 40 odd different occasions as a buyer and we went out for some torture after work.

Trained masseurs understand anatomy and work with muscle tissue.

So, where do you go for real massage?

I had the blind massage. When you go out or Exit 2 of C.K.S. MRT, go down the street which is not Roosevelt Road (without crossing the road) then take the first left. Cross the street and the blind massage is on that block. It was good - not the very best massage I’ve ever had, but worth it - definitely more than just random poking and she did the nerves on my hands and arms quite well. They don’t provide towels and you keep your clothes on. The prices are on the low end of the spectrum - nt$200 for 20minutes unless you get a foot which is nt$300, and nt $600 for an hour. They even have a sign in English.

Try the local travel agent. There you can get a ticket to Bangkok!

I’ve just found out for us Taoyuan folk that a traditional Thai massage place has opened up in downtown Chungli. 1,200NT for two hours with a Thai masseuse. I don’t have the exact address, but it is located across the street from the Mcdonalds closest to Chungli’s huge underground parking lot. I’ll try to get the address on Monday.

I am training to become a Rolfer and practice deep tissue massage as taught by the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado. (rolf.org/)

Anyone interested in experiencing the benefits of massage or need more info contact me via PM.

I go to 鄧老師
1000NT for 60 mins

I only ask NT$500 for an hour or NT$600 for 75minutes!!
