The A350 passengers escaped with their lives but unfortunately the firefighters who were carrying supplies to the area affected by the quake all died. :sob:

Oh and there are still many people trapped in homes and buildings that collapsed.

Seriously, very unfortunate, very sad.

The bad luck streak keeps going: earthquake, plane crash, massive fire in Kyushu, 4 people stabbed in metro station…

Sadly, it is a swarm: Earthquakes. Around 40 over 4.5 since 1/1, and still counting… :disappointed:

Oddly enough, I was affected by both the earthquake (in Niigata, about 100km away), and then next day the stopping of flights from Haneda due to the planes colliding…

I missed going to Kyushu though.

I was in Osaka and didn’t feel a thing.

As I said, someone needs to have a “limpia” in Japan.

Worse is that the 72 golden hour is closing, with many still trapped under rubble in frigid temperatures.

Meanwhile, in Japan’s Hokuriku . . .

More on the positive side of Japan: an Indian resident in Toyama Prefecture (she reportedly is an English teacher) steps up and helps cook chicken curry with green peppers and potatoes for around a hundred elderly people affected by the quake.
