Message to SCOOTER owners who aren't "into" scooters

This doesn’t belong in the “Cars and Bikes” sections because it’s directed at people who dislike reading about cars and bikes. I made a short vid talking about foreigners in Taiwan who use a bike/scooter just for going from point A to point B…and choose to not study riding techniques and skills.

The video (you can make your browser smaller to make the video clearer): youtube.com/v/MI0b1koc6SU

I like the analogy that I make (I made the video months ago and forgot about it)…with comparing riding a scooter and not educating yourself on riding techniques…with using a lumber mill saw without first learning how to use it safely.

your new avatar is cool mordeth

My youtube “fans” have been making them for me (without me asking). Some are really really cool…

It’s too late for that…my head’s so swollen up, I don’t even remember what “real” is anymore… .

Mordeth is selling out and going mainstream! Cars & Motorcycles isn’t big enough for you eh? :raspberry:

j/k man. :rainbow:

I’m going to be buying a motor scooter within the next few weeks or so and during the course of my research I ran accross this 70 page motor scooter safety manual:

abacus-es.net/motorscooter/yourscooter.html

Give it a minute to load if you have a slow connection. It goes over what to wear, basic driving techniques, driving in different conditions (highways, alleys, night), handling special situations (tire blowout, rain, wind, skidding, emergency breaking), riding with passengers, etc etc etc. There’s a table of contents on page 2.

Its a pretty good read if you’re thinking about buying a motor scooter…or if you already have one and you’re not “into” it yet.
