Would need to know how many hours a day, how many days in the week, and total hours in a week he worked to understand how much job pressure he had.

What does this have anything to do with the elders?

I would guess it’s more likely he killed himself because he was caught in some sort of ethical cross-fire. Someone up above leaning on him in a case involving something nasty. Same reason a lot of police suicide.

The link says elder judges use the number of cases processed as basis for promotions, which sounds like looking numbers over taking the time do a good job is the basis for promotions…

That has nothing to do with the elders either. The real problem is the large case load.

Aren’t most judges middle aged?

No? There are multiple judges in my class. Many people passed the exam on first try at 23 or something.
