I heard they roll backed on four months and went back to an year? Its quite interesting they do this when for years they moving towards all volunteer army.
I be curious how it affects returning overseas Chinese like Jeremy Lin and his brother, or is he staying and playing as a TARC with ROC passport thus keeping himself off the draft radar as long as he doesn’t get a ID card?
Also what happens when an overseas Compatriot visa holder exceeds the draft age but still holds such a passport that states permission is necessary for exit? Would the person need to go to the Immigration center to get a permanent exemption as the exit immigration might not realize they aged out of draft age?
Also If some one doesn’t go to Taipei were the immigration office is ie they only entered Kinmen would they encounter difficulty exiting if they didn’t get permission? Maybe they are not tech savy or not have access to a computer before they are scheduled to leave including to Xiamen?
