MOTC to tighten electric bicycle rules!

Sounds like the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association is feeling butt-hurt over their share of a 650,000 unit market, and has roped in the Financial Supervision Commission.

Now if only such association/supervisory/regulatory bodies could self-organise in like manner to make the roads safer…

Seems to be a 2 year grace period mentioned in another press release becuase so many grandmas do not have the correct paper work… And they are not fun to deal with.

Let’s face it, the grandmas are going to be ignored by the cops and only foreign workers will be hassled.

Look at the top right hand corner… It applies to both

I’m not sure…the articles all seem to state that the new law applies to “e-bikes” or “mini electric two-wheel vehicles” and that the law also changes the name of “e-bikes” to “mini electric two-wheel vehicles.” None of the articles suggest the law affects the “slow vehicle category” as a whole.
