Where can I find a airconditioner that I can take everywhere? Something on wheels? I know it exists, but looked everywhere and can not find it in Taipei.
Thanks already!
Those things do not work very well. Thats why nobody sells them anymore. We used to export them 10 yrs ago but the quality was not good(not cold enough). You are better off getting a normal A/C.
That’s impossible in our appartment, so therefor we are looking for something we can move. Any idea where we can find it, or suggestions?
Thanks.
I also haven’t seen them in ages, probably for the reasons Panda stated. I used to have one in the office, but it wasn’t very efficient. Anyway, I think I’ve seen them in those electronics and appliances stores that are everywhere, but I can’t remember the name, it’s a chain-store all over the island, store-front always in yellow and orange colours - anyone know the name? Saw them there, but as I say years ago. Saw one fairly recently (one year?) in a japanese appliances store in the Windance-Mall in Hsinchu City just after it opened, but also the name of this store eludes me. Oh god, this is becoming pathetic … I’ll try to find out the name and post again! Xpet.
O.K., here goes, the japanese store I mentioned is called “Daiichi” (泰一電器 = tai yi dian qi), maybe they also have stores here in Taipei? Good luck, Xpet.
You need to have someplace in your apt where you can attach the outflow pipe of hot air to outside your living quarters like an exhaust. I dont know if anybody makes it anymore.
Guess that’s Quan Guo Dian Zi (or Chuan Guo Dian Zi?).

Nope, Daiichi is called “tai yi” in Chinese. There is a Daiichi store on the NW corner of Kuting, opposite of T-Zone.

Daiiiiichi is the Japanese store mentioned (white writing on red background), but ‘yellow and orange colours’ sounds like ??? (Chuan Guo Dian Zi). Got lot’s of outlets in Taipei …
Sh…, why can’t I see the Chinese characters (now ???). Was ok when I edited the message!?
Don’t fight, guys, both of you are right! Daiichi is indeed the Japanese store I mentioned in my post, the earllier described yellow/orange chain-store is a different one, and I believe Rascal posted the right name, 全國電子, or “quan guo dian zi” in Pinyin … Xpet.
No worries, we never fight in public. But wait until we meet tonight … that’s gonna be a ‘Donnerwetter’ …
