Hi All,

After living in Taiwan from 1998-2021, I moved away. I gave up my NHI and my JFRV (spouse visa). It was always my intention to move back at some point and I’m now putting a plan in place although unlikely to happen for another 30 months, but you never know.

Question: should I apply for a new JFRV as a new case or reapply? Will there be less paperwork as it’s the second time round? Can I do this at any point from now - get the visa but then live in the UK until the time comes to move back?

Second question: if at some point I’d like to buy property. Can I do this without Taiwanese bank account ARC etc so that when I do eventually come back I have a place ready?

Is spouse Taiwanese?
Would seem easily doable, though would have to do it when in Taiwan is a quick answer. A Taiwanese spouse can call up (Skype) district office where you plan to live.

Generally yes, subject to restrictions for PROC citizens and if reciprocal ability to buy exists.
