Così fan tutte will be performed this afternoon at the Taizhong Opera House at 14:30. This is the fluffiest of the three Mozart/da Ponte operas (the other two being Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro), and the plot is sexist nonsense, but, damn, the opera is great and tremendously enjoyable.
I saw this production with the same cast a couple of nights ago. I don’t think the recording studio trappings worked well. But other than that, this is a world-class production: well sung, well acted, well choreographed.
