Thanks for the advice folks. I will lower my expectations which were not overly high, though I am sad to have to do that.
Keep expectations low and disappointment is less likely! Some people say they enjoy it, so maybe youāll be luckier than Iāve beenā¦
I appreciate the comments @hannes. What are the ābetter areasā of Taipei?
Everyone loves a Dirty Sanchong.
So I made a good choice of where to stay then.
The mountains
It should be fine. Safe area, mix old residence with some new luxury high rise homes common in Taipei area. Cleaner streets, nice park near, but not very touristy area, but you can take a taxi or metro to 101 or some museums. I stay in friends house there, was nice a quiet, more peaceful there than here in my area of Kao City though (though Uni and beach makes a lot of noise).
I heard about the flea market at Sanchong⦠but the friend told me that thereās a chance of finding hot items there (meaning stolen items).
Itās a flea market. Pre-owned, new, etc. Everything can imagine very cheap.
Actually I find Hard Off to be good for pre owned stuff.
Of course!
Thanks for your reply. All info is good info.
@PeiHua-Connie
Many thanks for your reply and input.Good info.
When I first arrived here I heard many people refer to my new home of Taoyuan as the armpit of Taiwan. Finallyāa place worse than Taoyuan! ![]()
Maybe Taipei has two assholes.??? But, whatever, I know I will enjoy my trip there.
