- The macroeconomy is good: growth is projected to be 3.9% this year, but is uneven. Electronic components, ICT, and servers account for 58% of value-added of GDP when 60% of Taiwanese work in services.
- During the pandemic, exports went through the roof but most people still suffered.
- The service sector doesn’t have world-class industries.
- The manufacturing sector’s contribution to employment and GDP isn’t very high, but there are very many world-class enterprises.
- We will pull up the IT services sector, help it in 3 ways: (1) increase productivity (2) increase capital (3) increase product efficiency, with help from AI transformation of industry.
- We will create a tech hub for future development, with help of NIST, Ministry of Digital Affairs. It will have an AI development center and ecosystem.
- We will have an international collaboration ecosystem.
- We will increase investment in startups from $70 billion NT to $150 billion NT.
- We’ve established centers in Tokyo and Silicon Valley to lead our startups.
