Hi all,
Don’t know where best to post this, but putting it here as it is applicable to people learning/speaking Chinese in Taiwan.
I built an app called Pocket Taiwan, a phrasebook for the real situations you encounter in Taiwan — food, doctor, renting, the night market, etc. I studied Chinese at a fair number of language schools here, but for years I still got lost or went blank in specific situations because I didn’t know/couldn’t recall quickly enough the little nuances particular to that moment (like 載具 when shopping or 細的粗的? when ordering noodles). The idea of this app is to be a quick reference showing what both parties will most likely say in common situations here.
Annoyingly, to publish on Google Play, I need ~12 people with an Android phone to install it and keep it for two weeks. I already have testers from a general global audience, but am now looking specifically for a few more in Taiwan - while basic use counts toward testing, it would certainly be nice to have some feedback from people here. If anyone would like to help out, please DM me.
