I’ve been here 5 years and have have searched every pharmacy or watsons type place that I have passed looking for this stuff. I have psoriasis and it’s the only thing I can put on my head. I usually get anyone who goes abroad to buy some for me but this is unreliable to say the least. I can buy it online but I get shafted with the shipping. So anyuone know where to get it?
just in case anyone’s interested i ended up getting the stuff online at
emilysbeauty.com/product_inf … cts_id=861
worked out at 1000nt for a 16oz bottle

Thanks for posting this. There’s some stuff there I might need during my stay in Taiwan.
You can ask pharmacists for shampoo (洗髮精 xi3fa3jing1) containing tar (焦油 jiao1you2 or mei2jiao1you2) to see if there are any other, perhaps local brands with the same ingredients.
Print out and show them this:
焦油洗髮精 或 煤焦油洗髮精
It’s sometimes available at online auctions such as here, this one being a Root brand version:

does that stuff work. I’m using the regular Coal Tar shampoo from a Uk company and it has mixed effect. Sometimes ok, sometimes not.
DB is on the money. I simply explained to the pharmacist that I needed a tar shampoo and they had a product that looked and smelled the same as the one you mention. It worked just as well, too, and came in a variety of strengths. The one you mention is actually too mild for some of the wild stuff that happens to my scalp.
Pharmacys are really ace in Taiwan in that you can get almost anything without a script just for knowing enough to ask for it.

This is good to know. Thank you.
