Clearly shows how easy it was to “fix” the issue in the first place.

They’ll now need to add a third check for the new format and given how many complaints and how long it took to add the check for the current ARC number we could be waiting a very long time. If even government departments don’t accept official government ID numbers then all is lost!

Need to test the apps:

WeMo

GoShare

YouBike 2.0

But for those you need a mobile phone. My phone number is already registered with them.

WeMo requires a photo of the original ID to register, so one can’t test until one have a new ID format on hands.

Like WeMo, we can only test it when we have new ID.

Good news!
YouBike 2.0 accepts the new format!
You have to remember to select A.R.C instead of Taiwan ID, tho.

LOL, that’s what they said about the current situation!

I’m curious whether the hotline might just be a recorded message thanking us for our suggestion and please find a Taiwanese friend to help.

This example A812345678 is not a valid ARC/APRC ID as the checksum is wrong.

A812345678. Funny dudes posting pictures of their ARC on the internet. :stuck_out_tongue:

:open_mouth: Time travelling! That’s how you break free of the very limiting numerical years in spacetime!

Why didn’t I think of that!?

Isn’t the change just limited to the second position changing from a letter to a number? Why is it necessary to make the new card so big?
