New Taiwan 6% pension rule

I have heard that the government has implemented a mandatory 6% employer contribution to the central pension fund.

Has anyone had any dealings with this new law and could you shed some light on the implications of this and who it affects (i.e. Taiwanese nationals only, or will resident aliens also be included in this scheme, etc.) ?

Thanks :help:

That has been implemented some time back (a year ago or more), foreigners don’t need to subscribe and hence no payments are made. Unless things have changed.

Out of curiosity, CAN foreigners subscribe? If they do, are employers obligated to make the payment as they are for locals?
