Hi, does anyone know if the Covid situation is creating a delay in issuing NHI cards? I’ve been working in Taiwan for 4 months now and have an ARC, but no sign of NHI card. Just wondering how long they normally take to arrive. My employer says they have applied for it, but a friend said he had to sign a form in order for the application to be sent off, which I haven’t been asked to do. Not sure who to chase this up with.

your company should apply for your NHI within 3 days since they hire you.
If your company doesn’t pay required fee after they apply for your NHI in 2weeks, the application is canceled.
When the application is completed, if they don’t receive your card within 2 days, they should contact to NHI office.
If they do it in person, it is done within an hour.
You can ask to NHI office or maybe labor department of your local government, if you want to know the current status of the application for you.
You might want to check your labor insurance status too.
Four months seems…a bit long. I think it would have been reasonable to start chasing it up like 3.5 months ago.
