I know online shopping is big here, but being from the West I see an online shop with Chinese writing and immediately think knockoff. No matter how much the locals try to teach me otherwise, I just can’t shake it.
So I’m in the market for some new shoes and want a specific pair that isn’t on the major generic shopping sites.
I found nikeworld.com.tw but there are some pretty suspect designs on there. I’m wondering if anyone has heard of or dealt with them in the past, and can attest to their (il)legitimacy?
I think Taiwan is legit but if they are selling fake Nike they will shut down pretty fast. Taiwan doesn’t kid around with that.
I heard of someone talking about some Chinese girl who basically went and bought a bunch of “Nike” shoes from Taobao and got busted for it. She was going to sell it for profit.
I saw a shopping street here with multiple Nike stores side by side. Still barely believe they’re legit.
Really hoping this site is for real because I want that design, but how can you know?
It’s payment on delivery (which probably means I have to leave the money with the reception, I guess) and it’s actually a pair I’ve had before, but I don’t know if I’m astute enough about shoes to tell the difference.
Yes I know Nike dot com dot Taiwan. The problem is that it doesn’t have the style I want, and neither do local stores, which is why I am trying to find alternatives.
Just looked deeper into it and it looks like they’re selling tons of Jordans for NT1700 - there’s no way Jordans are sold that cheap. I’d guess that taints the site too much for me to trust it, so I’m looking for a different site.
The point in my last reply to you (asking you how you know it’s legit) wasn’t a matter of whether I can type “nike taiwan” into google, but rather evaluating the legitimacy of the sites that come up, which have stock I want - hopefully by someone here having used them (i.e. some site) before.
I guess the problem I have with that site you linked is that they have copied the style, logos and graphics from the main Nike site, with no linking back there, and apparently no affiliation. So already there is some deception at play, may be just something that is done, no biggie.
But then I watched @Taiwan_Luthiers’ video where the site selling counterfeits was called nikeshoes.com.tw or similar, and that was a little too close for comfort for me. Proceed with caution…
