You will not regret it. My wife has taken over mine. Takes it everywhere she has downtime.
I would like to play some older games like Halo. I’m on PS so I miss playing some of these Xbox games.
Gears of war collection for cross-platform play was recently announced. If there was a HALO collection this year or next I would be pleasantly surprised.
I picked up the ROG ally x despite it’s hefty pay check and it’s been pretty amazing. Yeah have to deal with windows but it’s been surprisingly comfortable for reading books or doing light work (obviously no typing). Of course it’s quite a bit heavier that the switch and I’m guessing the switch 2. But I recently tried to play switch again and it was wild how much better the ROG ally is compared to that.
Not for much longer.
Now the ROG Ally comes with an XBox branded stripped down Windows OS for console like ease of use but with the compatibility of PC.
@DrewC @DogmaticStoic @Andrew0409 You have options.
Yeah, the X-Box handheld looks cool. Really depends on the games. My kids and I like the Nintendo staples like Mario Kart and the Switch style sports games. I’m more of a casual gamer these days, but I’ll see. If the X-Box handheld does a remaster of the original Halo trilogy, then I may get both. May wait for the hardware reviews on both as well. For some reason I have a feeling that X-Box handheld will gobble battery life like no one’s business.
My Switch 2 is in the mail! I assume I can play it, even though the console won’t be available until July 10th here.
Any idea why Taiwan’s release date is a whole month later than the June 5 release date in most regions?
I know Taiwan market is small, but our proximity to Japan should be of benefit.
Japanese food is pretty bad here as well. Proximity doesn’t mean everything. ![]()
It will run the master chief collection that has it.
I light get the Xbox version. The ally X is the most powerfully. But I just wish it had that oled screen like the steam deck
So that new Mario Kart looks incredible. Kind of silly to see so many complaints about the price, like we don’t spend that much on groceries every couple days.
Complaints about price are pretty justified imo. It’s been an ongoing problem with large developers releasing games riddled with bugs, blocking or splicing content that ought to be in the base game into DLC’s when this was standard content in base games in the past.
Now we get unfinished games that are rushed through Q&A to get day one patch releases of lesser quality than in the past.
I thought this was mostly a third party problem (I know EA and Ubisoft are particularly bad in that regard… micro transactions, bugs, broken on launch day… plus the forced DEI consulting crap… so I steer clear of them). Nintendo, whatever you think about them, almost always put out quality products.
I think Nintendo has unfortunately become quite a bit more shareholder focused recently. Remains to be seen if that’s going to negatively impact the quality of content they put out for the Switch2. Hopefully, it doesn’t though.
Sony made a huge mistake going hard for their live service push and with the new CEO in place it seems to have cut way back on that. Gamers in general are tired of being micro-transactioned and nickeled and dimed.
Ubisoft I think is finished as a company with the recent failure of their most recently regurgitated Assassins Creed game. I for one wont miss them and when they sell off their IP I hope somebody else will pick up the torch and reinvent the wheel so to speak.
I remember Silent Hunter 3 being one of my favorite sims for a long time on PC.
I really want to compare the steam deck and Ally X side by side. Idk which one to get.
