No money....let them eat sandwiches

I heard of Flora, I never heard of sunflower butter.
It’s called margarine. :sunglasses:

As I suspected…The usual marketing crap.
Flora have many different products but this is the one they call original (with new great taste…hmmm). It’s not clear what percentage of which oil is included.

https://www.flora.com/products/flora-original/

Everything you need to know about Flora Original

  • 70% vegetable fat spread
  • Great new taste
  • 100% plant goodness**
  • 100% of ingredients from natural origins
  • Absolutely no preservatives, artificial colours or flavours
  • Naturally rich in Omega 3
  • Made from a blend of sunflower, rapeseed and linseed oils
  • 67% less saturated fat than butter***
  • Delicious for spreading, baking and cooking
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
  • Registered with The Vegan Society
  • Gluten-free

Then further down…They finally admit they have palm oil in it.

What’s in Flora Original?

  • Plant oils (sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, linseed oil and sustainable palm oil*)
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Plant based emulsifier (sunflower lecithin)
  • Vinegar
  • Natural flavourings
  • Vitamin A

But again no percentages for any of the oils ?!?

Good to know i can get on with my life new :sunny: 23

Glad to see you like palm oil and you now know what’s in Flora…Kind of

I drink full sugar coca cola, i eat mcdonalds, i cross roads, i even breath unfiltered air when i walk the streets. somethings gone kill me, probably my wife, but it won’t be stress from worrying about it. :yum:

I’m not worried about it in the slightest either.
I just want people to understand how food marketing works because it’s very misleading.

And water is wet.

And Flora is less than 20% sunflower oil.

Also you know what sunflower butter is, as you had it at home from being a kid.

It also won’t change the fact children at that school are being treated as second class citizens for not having the money to pay for lunch.

I never ate it, thought it tasted funny.

Agree that the kids should be looked after fairly.

Same thing happens in Taiwan, some counties give free lunches to poor kids, some don’t.

its been fun but i have sunshine to enjoy, maybe i should get some Vitalite instead

I want some sunflower butter now

My guess is that a local farmer who regularly provides shekels to local Democrats is a commercial sunflower grower, hence the contract to provide sunflower butter to the school system.

That’s Last Tango in Paris.

Some @Dr_Milker titillation

Peanut butter in school? Allergy. Lawsuit.

This wasn’t an issue when I was a kid. Why’s every kid allergic to peanuts these days.

Same reason they all have ADHD. Al Qaeda. :runaway:

I don’t want to blow your minds, but I think they MAY have been talking about this product (albeit a more prosaic version). It would be an alternative in situations where peanut butter is not allowed.

Thank you!!! :rainbow: :unicorn: :grinning:

I could hardly believe it, post after post after post talking about frickin’ Flora! :exploding_head:

Since this isn’t really about poverty anymore, can we mark it as “solved”?
