Non-ikea bunk beds

Hi, does anybody know where, other than IKEA, we could go for good-quality, solid-wood bunk beds for our still small, yet space-demanding brood? Thanks a lot, Xpet.

I saw nice ones at HOLA. I don’t know the price.

Hi lo, and thanks for the reply. We checked out Hola before, they only have loft beds (one bed on high legs), but no bunk beds (two beds stacked on top of each other) which we’re looking for to safe some space … thanks! Xpet.

I just saw some nice wooden ones at the store above Hola - HOMY. They had some with a single top and bottom and a double bottom and single top - seemed to be of good quality.

Hi expat newbie, thansk for the post! Which HOLA are you talking about? The store above “our” HOLA here in Shilin is a B&Q … :s Thanks a lot! Xpet.

Xpet, there’s an expat I was going to buy a table/chairs from in Tienmu, leaving at the end of May, and she’s got a nice sturdy-looking bunk bed that she’s selling for 15,000 with mattresses. If I had the space, I would have bought it. Light colored wood. I don’t have her number on me and have limited internet access… may have the number later tonight and I’ll PM you with it.

Xpet - I should have known there’s more than one HOLA in Taipei! The one I am referring to is in Neihu, near Costco.

Braxtonhicks, ExpatNewbie, thanks a lot!

There is a place called Sleeping Country, also near NeiHu Costco. Looked a bit too upscale for me though. Bet I couldn’t even afford to enter the store. :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t bother visiting PIIN, their selection was poor even for regular beds.
Anyone know what the pricelevel is on those “furniture streets” in Taipei?

YingFan

I’ve seen the RT-Mart in Neihu also with bunk beds.

Thanks guys, we’ve decided to go with the IKEA option after all, their price for the cheapest wooden bunks was unbeatable it seems -

the charming GUTVIK model for a mere NT$3600.-, plus mattresses of course. It’s already on its way over to our house (or so we hope) … Thanks, Xpet.

EDIT: Sorry, the bed is called TORDAL, not GUTVIK, seems to be sold under a different name here or so …

Nine years later, I’m looking for up-to-date info on solid wood ADULT (twin size) bunk beds in Taibei. East side preferred but not necessary.

Not child sized, pls.

I believe Ikea has a metal one, and maybe a cheapy pine one similar to the above. I also know there’s a poster advertising a sturdier-looking used one in Yonghe. I’m looking for something similar to hers, but perhaps new so that delivery is an option.

Can you ask Costco?? We got ours from Costco. My girl has the Twin one, basically its a loft bed meant for college dorms or studio apartments.

Yeah they are not on display but I found them online, ask Costco if they already have it or if they can source and deliver it. No harm in it.

Xizhu Costco, perhaps?

Icon, I am sorry for the confusion. I bought ours here in the US from Costco from their online catalogue.

Maybe sth. exists in Taiwan, I was just offering a possibility. We love our beds!
