Nursing rooms in Taiwan… is this normal?!

Jing Yuan Leisure Farm, Kaohsiung.

Me, my husband and our hungry 8mo.

We found the nursing rooms, no problem. Asked the attendant if the rooms were occupied - the light wasn’t on but the curtains were closed. He confirmed it was being used.

20 minutes later. No one had come out, so we asked again. The employee checked again and said it was occupied. Not 5 minutes later, another employee emerged from the nursing room… sans baby.

We told MIL who immediately activated “send the manager to me” mode, and she lead the way to the restaurant with our whole immediate family in tow. Half an hour later, the farm manager graced our table… looking fresh from the nap she had taken in the nursing room earlier.

She claimed “that would NEVER happen at this establishment” … followed by “please order any drinks you like, it’s on the house”.

My husband and I come back every year for LNY, with two under 2 we’ve frequented many nursing rooms of varying standards - but THIS was a first.

Can anyone shed some light here? I’m mind boggled.

Boss was taking a nap, staff were scared to wake her up, they hoped you’d go away?

At least it wasn’t 2 employees exiting the room.

Yeah, she probably does it all the time because nobody usually uses the room. And they offered free drinks. It’s only a problem if the customer chooses to make it one.

My child would be breastfeed wherever, at the table even.

This sounds about right. There were two of us waiting to feed our babies at the time. MIL was ready to make it an international diplomatic incident.

My eldest is like this. Second refuses unless it’s a dark, quiet room.
