Haha, that’s hysterical but I don’t know what she’s saying.
At first I thought maybe because the guy hadn’t given up his seat and she really wanted it…
If this was a westerner there would be wall to wall news coverage and a press conference.
She’s shouting why are you young people like this. Didn’t your teacher or parents take care of you, or something like that. I’m not going to watch the whole thing.
Sounds like she is a 69 year old Japanese lady. The young man must have accidentally bumped into her that made her think he does not respect old people. She kept yelling ‘bakayaro’ which is a Japanese 4-letter word. Her Chinese is not very fluent. The first young lady tried to ask her in Japanese and she explained a little of her grief.
This is what i understood: old lady’s elbow touched the guy sitting opposite (behind). he might have asked her to keep her hand in control and she misunderstood as though he asked her not to touch him in flirting manner. she seems really upset with it, trying to point out how old she is and how insulting his behavior was for her. a lmost all her words are in this direction.
good one though… be careful not to say a word to old ones at mrt
Damn. She was on the train to Xindian. Where all the nut-jobs live. En route to my uni. I think I’ll open a bin lang stand in Beitou now, instead.
Damn… she totally flips out just because some dude accidentally elbowed her.
Some people…
hilarious, I flipped through it, and she does a re-enactment for a MRT service worker at about the 6 minute stage.
Basically, as said above, she was sitting crossways on her seat like a bumpkin, holding on to the vertical bar and her elbow hanging over into his seat, he must have asked her to not hit his back, and she went off at him because she was scared of falling off her seat, so she had to be careful, etc…
That woman is not Japanese. Taiwanese people code switch all the time, and she is doing so too.
Guy
They usually code switch between Mandarin and Taiwanese, not Mandarin and Japanese… unless they’re really really old.
That’s not a Taiwanese accent of any flavor. Sounds like her native language is actually Japanese. She’s too young to have undergone Japanese education if she’s 69.
Her Chinese is not local speak. I only watched the first minute, but the vieo starts with her complaining that the “young” guy didn’t relinquish his seat and she believes he should be standing, holding the grab handle. She also complained that he shouldn’t be touching her. In short she seems a bit out of the ordinary and perhaps hysterical. The guy also seems to have the same feeling as he does what she demanded in order to diffuse the situation.
Most Japanese tend to be polite and an outburst like this in public is avoided . She herself should learn some manners it seems. WIll view clip later. gotta jet.
Nice tits for a 69 year old.
Just sayin’
she kinda looks like Elvis. I think she may have been drunk or at least short of a sandwhich for a full picnic.
If I was the kid Id just go over to another car. Not worth getting in the face of her. The elevator doesnt go to the top floor with her.
Shes lucky shes not on BART. The BART police may have tasered her or at least arrested her for public disturbance.
I dont think shes japanese though.
Although she doesnt speak mandarin well. Probably Taiwanese.
Yep. I couldn’t watch the whole thing either. Bad vibes. Very uncomfortable.
She is, or at least was, on my train to Hsintien now, going through the same routine screeching at someone to get off the train. Stopped at tai power station so I assume either she calmed down or got thrown off.
She is Taiwanese, at least that is what Grandma just said. She was listing when I just played that clip. Says they still do the code switch thing, speaking Japanese to scare the locals. Grandma said to look at all the heads drop when the old lady started to yell in Japanese. And something about “Taiwanese have no bellies when it comes to Japanese” that’s quoting an 84 yr old Ah, ma.
Nasty old backwards bat. And the hair
She never code switches into Taiwanese; could be hardcore southern Hakka. Certainly Mandarin is miles from being her mother tongue. I can’t believe how loathe locals are to get involved in this type of shit. if I was there I wouldn’t have been able to stop myself getting involved.
