I was grieved this morning to learn in the press that Oliver Lin died. People who worked at the Taipei Times or the China times may remember Oliver as a hard-working gentle soul.
If this is true, it is a sad day.
Oliver was working for CNA in Washington. He was one of the very few Chinese journalist who actually “got it” when it came to media and how to actually get the job done.
It’s true, unfortunately. He was suffering from chronic depression, had stopped taking his medication, and killed himself.
Sad to hear this, too.
