Apparently, Quebec, Manitoba, New Brunswick, PEI, Alberta and BC already have such an agreement[/quote]
Hold on, what? I can take my BC license in here and have it exchanged for a local one? I hadn’t heard that - or the article is misleading (shocker!).
I went in today to the Kaohsiung office to exchange my Ontario license for a new shiny Taiwanese one. I brought all my info, including my international license. The woman said I need to trek down to Taipei to the Canadian [strike]consulate[/strike]trade office for them to literally fill in a 5 line form notarizing that it is real (what the heck is my international license for if not to prove my license is real). I’m guessing it wont be cheap either.
I smiled and thanked her for her time, but I thought forget this, im going to continue renewing my international one by mail. Maybe one day if I am conveniently in Taipei for a visit, i MAY get around to it.

I had my IDP validated at the DMV in Zhongli, where I live. I think it was only like 150 NT if not free. Was a while ago, and they forgot to fill in the expiry date, so… :discodance:
