Participating in the einvoice / barcode system?

Hello! I recently learned about the barcode / einvoice system (載具) and it sounds really convenient! Do people here use this? And are there any good English-language apps for this? Everything I’ve seen so far is in Chinese…

I use it. It works on an apple watch and fitbit versa or i’m assuming any watch that can show an image.

For barcodes, taiwan uses GS1, and their website has decent enough english. I dont use einvoice myself so cant comment.

Oh cool! If you don’t mind me asking, which app are you using?

Following-up on my own thread: I wasn’t able to find any good solutions in English, unfortunately :(. However, I’m thinking about solving this problem for myself!

If an English-language app for the mobile barcode / e-invoice / receipt lottery systems sounds interesting to you, you can sign-up here to get updated when the project is ready for testing.

But don’t you still have to request the cashier every time for the barcode ? And then their system has to support it …

Here’s an updated link for the upcoming app: https://midana.com.tw/

tried it for the past 9 months or so, have won precisely nothing

Is it possible to bind shopee and Uber to the Taiwan lottery app or invoice platform?

Shopee yeah. There’s an option somewhere in the settings to add your mobile carrier barcode or whatever it’s called.

I think the same with Uber.

Hi folks. I was interested in the 載具 particularly around data collection and they have an English translation of the policy now at https://www.einvoice.nat.gov.tw/accounts/signup/mw :

Terms of Service and Privacy Statement

By applying for a mobile barcode as a cloud invoice carrier, the applicant is deemed to have agreed that the platform may collect, process, and use the applicant’s invoice data, including but not limited to mobile phone number, email address, carrier number, invoice number, consumption time, consumption details, and store information, for specific purposes such as “financial and tax administration,” “investigation, statistics, and research analysis,” “information and database management,” and other value-added services for invoices, during the period of operation and retention of certificates required by law. The platform provides various services for the applicant, such as querying, donating, prize checking, and information providing on this platform, mobile applications, or multimedia service machines (KIOSK). The applicant can stop using mobile barcode to request cloud invoices at any time, without affecting the existing rights to request invoices.

As far as I can read it, this means that the National Tax bureau will have your phone number, email address, and purchase history for everything you use the zaiju for. But, they will only use it for internal purposes.

Obviously if you are particularly worried about privacy you wouldn’t willingly sign up for something like 載具. But as far as I can tell this data would not be sold to other companies or used outside of the taxation bureau.

I’m unclear what “other value-added services” would mean. (It’s a direct translation of the characters so no help there.) I’m also unclear what the period of “operation and retention” is. Is the tax bureau expected or required to destroy your zaiju history after a certain time period?

Agreed. But, government systems data have been hacked/sold in the past (eg. Nhi data). If people care about their rights and privacy, use a burner phone. Or just get a regular receipt.

We use it as a company for customers, also use a different computer that they can hack to their hearts content. Keep private data private would be the take home point, even the government isn’t that great at security.
