Usually they don’t, until the school transes (or attempts to) their kids. This has happened to two friends of mine. The very liberal friend came to me and said “maybe those crazy right-wingers have a point” after his 7-year old and several of her classmates wanted to change their gender after an unannounced mandatory trans inclusion week at school.
