Personal Firewall

I get a pop up that says “The connection was refused when trying to contact www.google.com” or whatever site I type in.

So I go to the Norton icon and click on Personal Firewall and turn it OFF. Then I can surf as much as I want. There are choices of turning it for 5 minutes, half hour, four hours, when system restars, or permanent.

Is it bad to turn the Personal Firewall off? What is this and do I need it on on top of all the other security features on Norton?

I used Norton before and I seem to remember you can change the security level. Yours seems to be set to high security. Change it to the low (recommended) security level and everything should be fine.
