I didn’t know what forumn heading to put this under, so I chose this one seeing as I’ll be arriving in Taipei end of August to start teaching. I was wondering if any of you have any personal photos you’ve taken in Taipei? I just want to see real Taipei and not the typical google pictures I find on web search.

Not Taipei exactly but shots of Taiwan from someone who has been here a while.
There is a “Taiwan” group on the Flickr website. A lot of "artsy-type stuff, but also a lot of “straight” landscapes, cityscapes, etc.
Be warned though, Flickr has a good search function and can really suck you in! Have fun and check out some of Poagao’s stuff.

Speaking of Flickr, there’s also flickr.com/groups/forumosans/ which is a newly formed group. We don’t have a lot of pictures up yet, but you can always look at the pictures of the members of that group - they’ve got a lot, and many of them are Taipei residents…
