Hi guys I’m a Singaporean and I’m planning to travel over to Taiwan to study music in about 2 years time. I have already decided on a school to be enrolled into which is National Taipei Normal University(NTNU). If possible I would like to know how is life in NTNU, is it a friendly environment? Is it a good choice to study music in Taiwan? Do you guys have any other suggestion on any other schools which I can also consider to study music in?

I’d say NTNU 師大 is about at top 3 for music study in TW. The other two is likely NTUA 台藝大 and TNUA 北藝大. The latter two more art oriented. So at NTNU you would meet a mixture of people of all studies, whereas, with the art schools specifically for performance. Typically, the art schools have been the cradle for producing TW’s performers and celebrities. Life-wise, NTNU is located in a more popular area and would be more cramped. The other two I suspect may be more spacious.
