Does anybody know where to buy a set of plastic coated dumbbells in the Taipei area? I don’t want to use iron ones because they’ll scratch the floor. I would prefer a location that’s convenient to the MRT. I live in the Shilin 士林area, but any sports shop in Taipei would be fine. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I have done as search for sport stores, dumbbells…. Obviously there are a number of sports stores all over Taipei, but I didn’t find anything about coated dumbbells. . As my Chinese is terrible it is impossible for me to start calling around. I can start hitting them one at time if all else fails. I already found some nice looking chrome plated ones. I may buy these later and use a pad to protect the floor if I can’t find the plastic coated ones.
I had a nice set back in the States that I bought at Walmart, but they were too heavy to ship here at a reasonable price. I thought I could just buy another set after I settled in; after all they were made in Taiwan. They ended up in a yard sale. In hindsight I wish I had shipped them.
