PM Takaichi wins massive landslide election victory (Taiwan supporter!)

If it’s one on one then Taiwan loses quickly, if it’s Taiwan + Japan then it loses more slowly with much more bloodshed - look at Ukraine.

There was very little bloodshed in Hong Kong compared to any usual war.

Exactly, the HK were treated just as the mainlanders are. The only bad take is your misunderstanding of the post you replied to

And that justifies the threat of force? Imagine if Europeans saw the British as misguided brothers and sisters, but show that love with language like “we will just keep the ialand, not the people”.

No. I’m just saying it how it is, and there’s not much we can do about it whether we like it or not.

I think the bushido spirit will re-emerge with Japan rearming. About fucking time.

Telling it as it is would be more like:

The CCP has been spewing lies like Chinese won’t kill Chinese since the 1920s, when in fact what they are saying if you don’t do as you’re told, we will destroy you.

The Chinese people love Taiwanese people line is just cut from the same tired cloth.

Oh they’d kill Taiwanese for sure. They’d just prefer not to.

I don’t think they’d prefer not to, they wouldn’t care about killing Taiwanese, they’d just prefer not to have a war with the US etc.

I think they’d prefer it, they just really prefer not getting killed in the process.

Based on what?

Even if they “peacefully” takeover people will die in the concentration camps. It won’t be a slow burn like Hong Kong, China originally needed Hong Kong to continue as a trade and banking hub, until Shanghai and Shenzhen took that role much later on.

Not even the semiconductor industry would save Taiwan in a “peaceful” takeover, they’d just take the technology to their factories on the Mainland.

Based on what they did to the Uyghurs, Mongolians, and Tibetans.

None of them are Han Chinese. Also most Chinese don’t even know any of those things happened non-peacefully.

Why would that matter, Tiananmen square massacre was largely han, falun gong largely Han, women who suffered forced terminations under the previous population controls mainly Han, cultural revolution mainly Han.

All of that is the CCP, not the general population.

It ain’t a democracy. But if you are talking about general population anecdotally I’ve meet mainlanders who distrust Taiwanese. As they eat up the propaganda.

My original point was that most mainland Chinese people don’t want to get into the bloodshed and slaughter of Taiwanese if it can be helped, unlike with the Japanese where a lot more of them would relish it, due to Nanking and the fact they’re brought up to hate Japan.

Based on what?? Race? They could easily have proganda based on separatists, or if you want to bring up Japan in ww2…. Many Taiwanese fought in the Japanese Imperial Army.

Read up what Chinese think about Japanese.

Only because the CCP keeps pushing the propaganda about Japanese.
