Police certificate authentication

Hi folks, I need to get my ACRO (UK police check) verified for the purpose of applying for my APRC… Any idea how to do this? The lady at immigration wasn’t very sure either…

Send it to UK TECO for them to stamp it. Once in Taiwan… you need to take it to BOCA to stamp the TECO stamp.

In my opinion it is a completely pointless exercise. Taiwan needs to update its procedures with police reports from western countries that have QR codes and easy official websites to authenticate such reports.

Thank you very much.
Yes, it would have been nice of immigration to explain this to me a bit more clearly earlier in the process (before I had the ACRO sent to Taiwan)… lol, however, it is what it is…

Just to double check I have understood, I need to send the ACRO to the FCDO to be apostilled, then arrange for the documents to be sent to the TRO in London and back to me here in Taipei. (OMG lol this document will have quite the carbon footprint by the time its done traversing the globe!)

As far as I can tell from the info I’ve found, the TRO doesn’t expect the ACRO police certificate to be notorised by a solicitor before being apostilled.

As far as I know Taiwan doesn’t apostille documents and the police check doesn’t need to be seen by a solicitor before being stamped by TECO.

Welcome to Taiwan bureaucracy where nobody has been question as to the need of such verification in 2024 where we have the Internet along with online certification, QR codes for authentication etc… etc…
