Police DUI checkpoint

So there is this random small quiet road in my area of taipei. There is not much going on in the evening / at night. Just a couple of restaurants, a Japanese Izakaya and a KTV.
This is not a through-street and has not much traffic, even during the day.

The strange thing is, the police does a DUI checkpoint right in front of the KTV every second night.
I’m not sure why they would do it exactly at that spot, but want to ask them next time.
My best guess it, that maybe there were some shady things going on in the KTV, so as an excuse the police is doing a DUI checkpoint.
