First dream of students standing at the foot of your bed.
First dream in Mandarin or Taiwanese or any other “foreign” language.
First dream/nightmare of standing at the whiteboard with nothing to say.

Am I on Tealit?
How about a poll on polls?
(This was inspired by our GMs demand on a meeting recently to hold a meeting to discuss how to hold meetings…)
These polls are a good idea if people respond to them. I have asked that they be put on the Monday e-mail bulletin so that 2,000+ people would have a chance to be polled, but I assume that this is beyond the technical abilities of the admin people or is due to limitations of the Oriented site itself.
Having a poll with only a dozen responses is meaningless.
“I am staying in Taiwan because…”
a] I am studing Chinese
b] I am studinging Chinese women/men
c] I have a nice ex-pat package and a maid
d] I am pretending to teach English
e] I have a non-teaching, non-ex pat job
f] I am married to a local and what can I say?
g] I am addicted to eating lotus
h] Prison life isn’t so bad
LOL!!!
Wolf, the polls have limitations in the set up, so you’re right, they seem a bit silly, really, don’t they?
I like yours, although none of the answers apply to me personally. But maybe that’s why polls (or questionnaires in general) are so crap in the first place. Like Cosmopolitan magazine quizzes…but without the scoring.
I guess none of the moderators have taken the liberty to create zany polls like yours, but then we’re not expected to be provocative, are we? God forbid we abuse our poll creating rights…
Tsk tsk, the dang things are tempting, for some odd reason.
If the poll function were available to all members, then it might just become a forum of dumb polls.
Here is a poll from the Taipei City Government
On-line Vote
Do you like Taiwan?
No
Yes
very much
I don’t know
Bet they hired some big thinkers to come up with that one…
