POPEYES was coming, now it's here!

There was a time in my life when I carried hot sauce around … maybe I should bring my own maple syrup!

Loads of mustard plants grown in Taiwan. Best in winter. Granted, Taiwan has developed them beyond amazing, so it may not seem so similar as back in the day. But mustard greens are for sure a part of the food scene in Taiwan

Chicken waffles on the other hand… Seems something that could catch on here, but I really hope it doesnt!

Based on the transformation you provided, I await the inevitable later arrival of “Pupeyes.” :grimacing:

You mist the perfect opportunity to use Poopeyes

:stuck_out_tongue: Probably 150ish yrs old.

Not generally.

no.

Also as others have said, chicken and waffles has been around more than a century. Hardly new at all.

On my side, I was struggling with the Pupeyes / Papeyes distinction.

There are indeed so many ways to make this name look yucky!

My mistake. I was actually thinking of another dish called fried chicken waffle sandwiches which is a similar but different abomination from the one you showed in the video.

Best of the American. Fried chicken chains

In Asia, maybe.

The one I had was similar to this but more drippy with syrup. It was my introduction to a chicken and waffles combination and I won’t be repeating it.

You can already get chicken and waffles at a Taiwanese chain called Nola Kitchen (紐澳良小廚).

I thought it was quite nice but a little sickly (they give syrup with the waffles). My parents-in-law didn’t even dare try it and just ordered rice.

Yeah I actually really like that place for their chicken and waffles. Buy 1 get 1 free on the beer too. Not bad.

Not a big fan of their Jambalaya though

We tried at NOLA , found photos on our groups, was ok. Beer was good if I remember

I didn’t know chicken came with shells.

It’s fried chicken.

That one uses frozen Eggo waffles, way to go! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Speaks for the chicken and waffles then?

Anyways, the day that chicken and waffles was ‘invented’. Hey, we have chicken for lunch and dessert is waffles … wait  … let’s skip the dessert and put the chicken on the waffles, saves time!

It actually speaks for I’m tired of having cold salads.
