Prenatal Vitamins

Is there a place in Taipei that sells reasonably priced prenatal vitamins?
I tried to buy them through two gynocologists here, one charged NT$800 for 40 pills, the other NT$750 for 50. No way they should be so expensive. Didn’t see any at Costco

You can get prenatal vitamins at most drugstores. I think even Watson’s might stock them. There is a brand called “prenatal” that was recommended to me, i remember the price was reasonable. I never took them in the end though, as my obyn here and in NZ told me they weren’t necessary as I had a balanced diet.

Thanks asiababy. I found some in Watsons called Prenatal but there locally made. I’d feel better about vitamins imported from US,Canada, UK, Europe, NZ, Aus etc vs local

Well, then I would try somewhere like GNC. GNC’s are also being sold by someone in the US on Taiwan yahoo auction, you can put in the search key word “prenatal” to get the listings, but after postage they are also around 700TWD a bottle.
I understand imported vitamins are generally very expensive, so you might just have to pay the money for peace of mind if you are really not happy taking local ones.

My wife got her prenatal vitamins at Costco (Xizhi), after the incredibly over-priced vitamins from the hospital-recommended pharmacy ran out. At Costco they were a quarter of the cost.
