Looking for a little advice, I left Taiwan at the beginning of this year and had to sort my tax return through a proxy. my cheque arrived to my proxy yesterday but it has my name on it so they are unable to cash and send it. I still have a bank account open in Taiwan with CHB. does anyone know would I be able to get the cheque deposited in my account then phone the bank and have the money transferred to my local account? if I can’t does anyone know of any other options?
Depositing shouldn’t be an issue.
You can then use online transfer, but only if you registered your foreign account details before you left.
If your friend can’t deposit it for you, they could try returning it to the tax office and requesting a direct deposit into your account instead.
