Process for taking my former landlord to court

I have been in contact with this office: https://www.tmm.org.tw/

They are going to get me a lawyer to take my former landlord to court.

Any idea what the process is after getting a lawyer?

The landlord owes my some rent and deposit money.

I think that the landlord may fold (or at least make me an offer) once he knows he is being taken to court.

I think worst case is that they pay the money they owe you anyway, correct?

I doubt they are likely to have to pay any kind of extra fine.

In other words: they probably do not care (aside from the waste of time of attending court).

I doubt it would somehow get the tax man’s attention (in case they are not paying tax or doing other illegal things).

The lawyer is probably in the best position to advise you on this. The first step is arbitration rather than court so that’s likely the next step.

Fify.

The lawyer should explain that to you.

The next step would be filling out and signing some forms.
