Uh… I got nothing.
Curiosity, but that’s it.
Anyone?
Seems relevant, given that the US will likely be pulling troops out of Afghanistan to stick another finger in the Iraqi dyke.

Does, in your mind, “likely” mean anything remotely relevant to …uhh…say…‘actual’?
Just curious.
Depends what we’re talking about, and what the stakes are.
If it’s likely that I’ll win the lottery, but I actually haven’t, I may buy tickets. If it’s likely that I’ll develop cancer in a particular environment, but i actually haven’t, I may move.
If I’m looking for a bastard who murdered a couple thousand people, anything that’s likely to make finding him less likely is worrisome; if that likelihood makes others less likely to help find him and his henchmen, it’s actually none too good.
Who cares? I’m happier building the pipeline…I mean rebuilding the infrastructure in Afghanistan.
Unfortunately Bin Laden Enterprises has been on the upswing recently, rather than the other way around.
Might be a good investment opportunity though.
"Al-Qaeda ‘rebuilding’ in Pakistan
The head of US spying operations says the leaders of al-Qaeda have found a secure hideout in Pakistan from where they are rebuilding their strength.
National Intelligence Director John Negroponte said al-Qaeda was strengthening itself across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. . . ."
So rather than the focus on invading Syria and Iran, Spook prefers that we invade Pakistan instead? Yes?
I’d like to wipe Al-Qaeda out once and for all but that’s just me. If it means chasing them into Pakistan, so be it.
Be a good idea to finish the job in Afghanistan first, before running off somewhere else wouldn’t it? And given how friendly and cooperative Pakistan’s gene… er… president is, would invasion be necessary? Prudent, given that they’ve got the bomb? Maybe India would help. What fun!
It didn’t help that Negroponte, Goss and the rest of the GOP goons foisted upon our intelligence establishments adopted the methods and skills of Maxwell Smart:
“Right, Chief! We missed bin Laden but this much!”
What IS the job in your eyes?
How does one “finish” bringing democratic reform to a country that never really had it?
US troops are being repositioned around the world. Fewer in Japan and Korea and more in Asia and the Middle East.
Face it, they’re NOT going home.
In Afghanistan? Finishing off the Taliban dog robbers that bugged out to the hills and are coming back in strength. Making sure bin Laden’s not in the neighbourhood. That’d help.
Osama is just a Myth. I personally think he died already in some bombings in that mountain area where he was hiding. As some other sources also think.
