Just a question on the whole politicization of the Olympics issue.
When was the PRC first invited to attend the Olympics? I have read that the PRC boycotted during the 1950s and 1960s in response to the ROC being allowed to compete as ‘Republic of China’. When you add in the 1980 boycott of the Moscow Olympics, this run of ‘boycotts’ would seem to make the PRC the nation that has boycotted more games than any other.
But did the PRC boycott those 1950s and 1960s Olympics or were they deliberately excluded by the IOC (perhaps under pressure from the U.S. and the ROC)?
Or maybe the IOC offered the PRC the type of humiliating terms Taiwan currently participates under (i.e. no flags or anthems, plus a silly team name) and they refused?
The same COC that says that politics shouldn’t be involved in the Olympics, I presume.
We also see that “Two Chinas” wasn’t started by Taiwan, but by the IOC.
So which nation has boycotted the most Olympics? Given that string of anti-Taiwan boycotts, plus Moscow, it looks like it could be the PRC. Can anyone confirm this?

As a mere white person you can’t possibly understand the genius of CCP’s Chinese Marxism/Leninism/National Socialism! If the Leader tells us that China must boycott the olympics because of politics, we must boycott the olympics. If later on the Leader tells us they are not political, they are not political. Both of these things are in no way contradictory, and if you’re hungry enough and love the Leader you can believe both at the same time.
