Questions about Teachers with APRCs

Hi. I have a few questions about teachers with APRCS.

  1. Did the APRC change the sorts of teaching jobs you pursue? Where you able to combine different source of income , like online teaching or part time buxiban work, or is combining income sources like this a hassle?

  2. Is it possible to make decent income subbing long term in certain areas ?(Taipei, Kaohsiung ). Is this more of a part time pursuit?

  3. What about private tutoring? What challenges/rewards does that offer? What about private tutoring part time and combining it with other jobs like buxiban work or online teaching( looking for the pros and cons again)

  4. Did having an APRC help you settle in whatever part of Taiwan you liked? Why or why not?

  5. What else should teachers with APRCS know?

Well I’d just add that you should get more money as employers don’t need to help you with your visa, pay flights , worry about which branches you can work at etc, so value your worth and charge more.

Private students will cancel a lot , so again chaege higher.

Employers may however be more wary of you , as you can leave them without losing your visa. And you are less easily manipulated.

Anyway the bottom line is to up your monetary value. Don’t get short changed.
