It seems in both cases (Hualien and Pingtung) the drivers (?) / other workers (?) did not follow SOP. Which in the Bad Old Days of TRA, was actually SOP.
I wonder if the newly corporatized Taiwan Rail will simply fire these people (in HSR style) and hire new people who can follow instructions.

yes, could be this term or short cut, anyways whatever term you use the result was very bad.
In the spirit of the holiday season, I’ll look on the bright side: no passengers were involved, and there were no deaths.

maybe send them to Japan and see how not doing short cuts is not allowed. Japanese can learn too , they can see from Taiwan’s workers what happens when not following SOP.
Well the train is broke, if they can be fixed it will cost a lot. One of them in newer Korean carriages and motor set, if fixed hope they do it correctly.
We also have positive models in Taiwan: the Taipei MRT system, the HSR system. Both are no nonsense with (so far!) excellent safety records.

Tried biting my tongue. Kaohsiung mrt literally collapsed during construction. But I get your point 
You will note I did not mention that company in my list. The Thai worker riot in K-Town is not something I will soon forget.

Taipei Metro (is same as MRT?) seems ok, the above ground lines have had problems though the brown/black line seems not started off well and broke down.
That’s an interesting way to call the Brown Line!
Yes indeed there were significant troubles when the Muzha Line was extended into Neihu and when the new Bombardier trains were brought in over an existing Matra system—it was not a good show. Thankfully those troubles were sorted out . . .

Ok, so now I know the Yellow line go it’s name. How do you explain the other color choices?
Perhaps the Red Line in Taipei is named to describe the frustration and rage one might feel as one waits, in ten minute intervals, for the train at some points.

And the rage to find the trains are all packed like sardines, and that they are all headed to Danshui.
What color is next route?
