@tempogain posted something recently about waiting for Twitter to approve something so we get the embeds. But yeah, the links are annoying

Thanks - is this a new issue? I thought Iâd been posting Twitter links for ages. Often the linked content wonât show in the post preview, but then itâll display in the post itself - but not this time.
Clicking on it does lead to the correct content, right?

It does for me. But I personally donât like posting a link and asking people to select it; Iâd rather just directly post the video/picture (one reason I donât share much from reddit; last time I tried that, anyway, the sharing was often odd).

With Tor itâs hit and miss now.
Twitter embedding might be broken. They are changing around things all the time without any kind of backwards compatibility. Twitter wanted even to monetize their API access at some point.
