Electrostatic sheets.
You can purchase Hepa filters for them;
Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier HEPA Filter (mi-store.com.au)
Standard filter is good to 0.3um anyway, just likely not to 99.97%. bear in mind if you want HEPA filtered air throughout 12 pings youâre going to need a monster unit or a lot of smaller units. The figures quoted for any system are the maximum recommended however you would need to be, or would certainly become, certified deaf to stay in any closed space with a filter running at maximum all the time. If minimizing 0.3um particles is a must for you then a mask is a better choice.
If it works itâs a good business idea! But there has to be a reason they donât (?) offer it as an upsell on existing AC units. Reduces flow too much or somethingâŠ
Paying 4k for an air purifier without a HEPA filter is throwing money away anyway. Itâs a big scam that they donât include one in the box. As others have said in this thread, a filter is most of what youâre paying for anyway, and youâre getting some low quality BS for that from Xiaomi.
Itâs surprising because the same Xiaomi product in other countries comes included with a True HEPA filter.
You really need a HEPA filter and a fan ć°±ć„œäș.
I have a Honeywell and itâs fine. (I donât remember if Smartair wouldnât ship to TW or it was going to cost way too much to ship here). I think it was around NT6000.
Thereâs no need to run it 24/7 unless you are in the room 24/7. Air filters get the air âcleanâ in a few (under five) minutes. Itâs not like the AC where you might want to run it always to keep the relative humidity consistent and mold at bay.
It is just a fan with a HEPA filter though, so energy cost shouldnât go up very much if you do run it 24/7. I donât think I saw an increase in my energy bill, but I only run it when Iâm home.
Oh, an expert! Can you enlighten us with a suggestion for a 4K pure HEPA air purifier in Taiwan with the same capacity and features as the xiaomi one?
Really, a H11 HEPA filter is âlow quality BSâ?
I called Xiaomi Customer Care and they said that whatâs included is not a HEPA filter, and HEPA is not mentioned anywhere on their Taiwan website. I donât know why they wouldnât mention it on their official site since itâs a buzzword when it comes to air purifiersâŠ
I already mentioned a 3K (including import and shipping) alternative with a H13 HEPA above. It is less powerful than Xiaomi but better value overall IMO
The Levoitâs CADR number is 230m3/hr versus the xiaomi 400m3/hr, thatâs an enormous difference.
Xiaomi has a built in air quality detector to auto adjust fan power, controlled by cellphone app with programable on/off times as well as programable sleep times.
Replacement H11 hepa filter for the xiaomi will run just under 800NT, the Levoitâs H13 doesnât seem to be available in Taiwan, itâs the equivalent of 740NT+530NT shipping, NT1,270.
Itâs nonsense to talk about the difference between a H11 or H13 in this price range, or even HEPA at all. If you actually want anything like that sort of air filtration in a 12ping space you need a significantly larger budget, something like this would be a good starting point, perhaps 2 or 3 depending on the geometry of the room and the noise level youâre willing to put up with.
Try here . It does appear to rely on an ionizer for some of itâs function, if thatâs an issue for you.
Are you sure Xiaomi comes with HEPA H11 for the Taiwan model? Can you provide the source? Customer Care didnât want to say HEPA and neither does the website.
Just FYI, got a Xiaomi air purifier and returning it after 4 days of allergies and breathing issues. There is an incredibly stinky plastic smell in the whole apartment after an hour of using this. I tried to offgas it by keeping it on for 72 hours but there was no reduction in the plastic smell.
Since Iâve never had this sort of issue with other air purifiers, Iâm just going to return this and get a Honeywell. Fuck Xiaomi.
@SuperS54 This one might be packed with smart features, but goddamn is the filter shitty.
I wonât buy anything from xiaomi or any Chinese company.
Why the hell would you buy a shitty xiaomi after all the research and advice you were given!? Didnât you want something with a pure HEPA filter?!
Get a couple of these asap before you come down with lung cancer.
I would have never bought the Xiaomi, got it because the one I mentioned above requires a few weeks to arrive to Taiwan.
Also, no one needs a troll here. I really wish my allergies werenât as serious as they areâŠ
I mean thatâs a little bit expensive, might as well rent a new apartment for two months
But the new apartment with still have the same shitty air!
Be careful on any and all autodetector features.
