Looking for a best of, not hardcore linguistics. Layman here.
My (Taiwanese) bro-in-law’s degree and field of study is Chinese Linguistics, I could ask him, but any such journal would be hifalutin’ stuff, as would any journal of linguistics for any language, and likely written in pretty high level Chinese as well. Hardly something a layman would find useful. What are you trying to do with it…?

He says there’s a number of them, but they generally fall into one of three categories:
- historical
- modern usage
- teaching (content, materials, techniques etc)
Can the area of interest can be narrowed down a bit to one of those?
