Recommendations for prosthetic limb specialists

I’ve always had my prosthetic legs provided by the NHS in the UK because it’s free, but the last one I got was poor quality and doesn’t fit well. I’ve never looked into getting one specially fitted in Taiwan because I presumed it would be out of my budget, but a colleague mentioned to me that it’s actually quite cheap here. I know it’s a long shot, but does anyone here have experience getting prosthetics made and can share their experiences? I have a prosthetic for my lower left leg which was amputated, I can basically walk and even exercise without anyone realizing I have a prosthetic but recently I’ve been feeling a lot of discomfort and I need a new fit.

I didnt have a clue

I would think prosthetics would be covered by the NHI in Taiwan as well?

That’s a thorny one. If you lose the limb before you arrive here I’m not sure.

It is covered by NHI, but when I checked it out before it seems to be a bit of a 差不多 job. Private is definitely the way to go here if you want something that fits well and will enable you to live comfortably. Although private where is something I’m still investigating

I bet it’s cheaper than the UK tbh. Just the 20% VAT along makes everything really expensive in the UK compared to Taiwan. Hope you find a specialist that can take care of it.

I had LASIK done in Taiwan at about 2/3 of the cost of the UK and I’m super happy with it for example.
